Technique: hand-painted script · Estimated time: 1.5 hrs · Paint: interior acrylic-latex (typography) + Liquitex BASICS artist acrylic (illustration)
Painting Instructions
- Pencil the script "Grown with Care" lightly — two lines, hand-lettered (don't try to be perfectly even, it's meant to feel hand-painted).
- Use FOREST GREEN (#2D6A4F) with a medium round brush (size 6). Paint the downstrokes first — these are the thickest parts.
- Add the connecting upstrokes thinner with a smaller brush (size 2). Two coats for solid coverage.
- Let dry fully (30+ min). If any letter feels off, dab on a thin cream coat over the mistake, wait 20 min, repaint.
★ Pro tip for this element
Script lettering reads best with VARIETY in stroke width. Thick downs, thin ups. Don't make every stroke the same — it looks digital, not painted.
Common Acrylic Rules
| Rule | Detail |
| Surface prep | Lightly scuff with 220-grit, wipe clean, prime any bare spots with cream base if wood is too dark |
| Layers | TWO thin coats > one thick coat — every time |
| Dry time between coats | 15-20 min minimum (acrylic feels dry sooner but isn't) |
| Brush care | Rinse in water between colors, blot on rag. Never let paint dry in brush. |
| Mistakes | Wait 24 hrs, paint over with cream base, dry, redo |
| Final seal (whole mural, day 5) | Matte acrylic clear topcoat — protects from grease + cleaning |
