Painting Instructions

  1. Pencil the tall glass shape — about 4" wide × 22" tall, plus a small strawberry garnish at the top.
  2. Base coat the inside of the glass shape in SMOOTHIE PINK (#EA4F88). Two coats.
  3. Lightly mix pink + cream for a frothy top layer — paint a 2" band at the top of the smoothie slightly lighter than the body.
  4. Paint the glass outline with a thin cream stroke around the pink fill — gives a "glass edge" feel.
  5. Add a green straw (MATCHA GREEN) coming out the top.
  6. Paint the strawberry garnish on the rim — TOMATO RED with small cream dots for seeds, and a small FOREST GREEN stem cap.
  7. Tiny cream highlights on the right edge of the glass for shine.

★ Pro tip for this element

Pink and matcha green next to each other = strong color punch. Let pink fully dry before painting anything green near it or they'll bleed.

Common Acrylic Rules

RuleDetail
Surface prepLightly scuff with 220-grit, wipe clean, prime any bare spots with cream base if wood is too dark
LayersTWO thin coats > one thick coat — every time
Dry time between coats15-20 min minimum (acrylic feels dry sooner but isn't)
Brush careRinse in water between colors, blot on rag. Never let paint dry in brush.
MistakesWait 24 hrs, paint over with cream base, dry, redo
Final seal (whole mural, day 5)Matte acrylic clear topcoat — protects from grease + cleaning
