Painting Instructions
- This sits IN PLACE of the "&" in the "Healthy & Delicious" wordmark. Center it where the & would naturally fall (~ at the 134" mark).
- Pencil an avocado shape, ~12" tall × 10" wide. This one is more stylized than the realistic avocado on page 10 — cleaner shapes, less painterly.
- Outer skin: FOREST GREEN with a clean edge.
- Inner flesh: AVOCADO FLESH (#A8C76A), two coats for solid color.
- The pit (center area) is a smooth oval in CREAM (#F0EAD2). This is where the "H&D" lettering goes.
- Inside the pit, paint "H&D" in FOREST GREEN — small block letters, all caps. Tiny but legible. Center the lettering inside the pit oval.
★ Pro tip for this element
This is the most-recognized brand element. If proportions feel off, paint over and redo — don't live with a wonky one. The "H&D" inside MUST be readable from across the room.
Common Acrylic Rules
| Rule | Detail |
| Surface prep | Lightly scuff with 220-grit, wipe clean, prime any bare spots with cream base if wood is too dark |
| Layers | TWO thin coats > one thick coat — every time |
| Dry time between coats | 15-20 min minimum (acrylic feels dry sooner but isn't) |
| Brush care | Rinse in water between colors, blot on rag. Never let paint dry in brush. |
| Mistakes | Wait 24 hrs, paint over with cream base, dry, redo |
| Final seal (whole mural, day 5) | Matte acrylic clear topcoat — protects from grease + cleaning |
