Wall Layout Blueprint
Chalk this onto the wall first · then paint inside the boxes
How to use: Snap a horizontal chalk line at the top edge of
the wood-paneled strip. Measure each element's X position from the LEFT edge
of the wall and Y position from the TOP of the strip — chalk a light
rectangle for each. Don't paint anything until every box
is laid out and you've stepped back across the room to verify it looks
balanced. Adjust spacing then commit.

Lay-out Order — what to chalk first
- Anchor lines first. Find wall center (115.5" from left) and mark it top + bottom with a small pencil tick. This is your reference.
- Bowl (#4) goes on first — it's the visual anchor. Chalk its 28×28" box centered around X=79", Y top at 1.5" from top.
- Wordmark (#5) next — center it on the wall center. The "&" position becomes the H&D glyph (#12).
- EAT LIKE (#6) on the right of the wordmark. Match the visual weight of MADE FROM SCRATCH on the other side.
- MADE FROM SCRATCH (#1) on far left. Mirror the EAT LIKE block — same letter heights, same vertical placement.
- Smoothies (#7, #8) as a pair on the right — tall and skinny, full wall height.
- Grown with Care (#2) + Tomato (#3) as a left-center pairing — Care script next to the tomato cluster.
- Fresh Daily (#9) + Avocado (#10) on the right edge as a closing pairing.
- Accents last: Chef's knife (#11) under MADE FROM SCRATCH. H&D glyph (#12) inside the wordmark.
- Step back across the room. Take a phone photo. Look at the photo for spacing issues — they jump out on screen more than in person.
- Adjust then commit. Erase any chalk lines that are off, redraw, re-verify. THEN start painting.
★ The one thing you can't undo
Painting before the layout is right. If the bowl is 2" off-center or the wordmark drifts, you'll see it every day forever. Spend 2 extra hours on layout — save 20 hours of regret.
★ Spacing reality check
Most elements have 1–3" of bare wood between them — that gap is intentional.
Reads as a horizontal frieze, not a crowded billboard. If it looks "too
spread out" while chalking, that's correct — the eye reads it as balanced
once color goes on.
