Painting Instructions

  1. This is THE centerpiece. Center it horizontally on the wall (centerpoint of wordmark = 120" from left edge, which is the wall midpoint).
  2. Pencil the full phrase "Healthy & Delicious" on ONE line, ~50" wide. The "&" position is where the H&D avocado glyph will go (skip painting it now — see page 12).
  3. Paint "Healthy" and "Delicious" in FOREST GREEN script — thick downstrokes, thin upstrokes. Size 6 for thicks, size 2 for thins.
  4. Two coats for full opacity. Don't rush — every wobble in this lettering will be seen.
  5. Paint the H&D avocado glyph in the "&" position (see element 12 page for full instructions).
  6. Below the wordmark, ~2" gap, pencil the subtitle "TOMS RIVER · NJ · EST. 2012" in small caps. ~2" tall letters. Paint in FOREST GREEN with a small flat brush.

★ Pro tip for this element

If you can only project ONE thing, project this. The wordmark proportions matter most — it's the brand.

Common Acrylic Rules

RuleDetail
Surface prepLightly scuff with 220-grit, wipe clean, prime any bare spots with cream base if wood is too dark
LayersTWO thin coats > one thick coat — every time
Dry time between coats15-20 min minimum (acrylic feels dry sooner but isn't)
Brush careRinse in water between colors, blot on rag. Never let paint dry in brush.
MistakesWait 24 hrs, paint over with cream base, dry, redo
Final seal (whole mural, day 5)Matte acrylic clear topcoat — protects from grease + cleaning
