Painting Instructions

  1. Pencil "Fresh" on top, "Daily" below in elegant script. ~6" tall total.
  2. Paint the letters in CREAM (#F0EAD2). Two coats for solid coverage against the wood.
  3. Once dry, add an OLIVE SAGE drop shadow offset slightly down-right of each letter — soft, not hard-edged.
  4. Optional: a thin FOREST GREEN flourish swash beneath the "y" of "Daily".

★ Pro tip for this element

Cream on wood = three coats sometimes. Hold the page next to the wall to confirm the cream truly covers the wood grain.

Common Acrylic Rules

RuleDetail
Surface prepLightly scuff with 220-grit, wipe clean, prime any bare spots with cream base if wood is too dark
LayersTWO thin coats > one thick coat — every time
Dry time between coats15-20 min minimum (acrylic feels dry sooner but isn't)
Brush careRinse in water between colors, blot on rag. Never let paint dry in brush.
MistakesWait 24 hrs, paint over with cream base, dry, redo
Final seal (whole mural, day 5)Matte acrylic clear topcoat — protects from grease + cleaning
